Moving On Back

We are in the process of moving Phin's nap time from about 10:00 am to 12:30 in the afternoon.
It's making for some tired and unhappy moments.

And I Will Call You Wormy

Caleb is teaching the worm tricks by wrapping him around a stick.

At Play

Hanukkah

The good thing about hanukkah is we have a few nights to get some photos.  On Saturday the boys got to open their "big" gifts.  Jonas got a new case and game for his Nintendo DS and Caleb got a kids' sleeping bag and a tent (photos soon).  We had friends over on Sunday for a party with latkes and a rousing game of dreidel.

A Not So Spooky Halloween

Caleb was a little green monster and Jonas really wanted to make his costume since he was Tunip from the Octonauts, a turnip fish.  He LOVED dressing up though he didn't understand why more people didn't know what he was.

Our Little Minion

Hurricane Daze

Well Hurricane Sandy blew through town and we thankfully had no damage (here that is, the damage in New Jersey and New York is terrible).  Dana and David who had come out to keep us company while Michael is in Ethiopia for the week were "stuck" an extra day.  The boys didn't have school so there was lots of playtime and David could not have been sweeter to his cousins.  Jonas was able to  introduce him to Dragonvale, his favorite videogame, and hopes to visit his island online. Dana was her amazing helpful self even doing her best to bring a little style to our sleepy suburbs- only when actually raking leaves did she put on the practical shoes.

Phin's First Wheels

Grandma Karen and Grandpa Yosh bought Phin his first set of wheels.  It was a big hit with all three boys.

Phineas is One!

Our sweet boy is one!  We can't believe a year has passed and how big Phin has gotten.  He learned how to wave bye-bye today and is working on his first molar.  He'll cruise along furniture and walls seemingly forever but is not thrilled to take steps on his own (yet).  We had forgotten how fun it is to feed a baby this age.  EVERYTHING is delicious.  Apples, meatloaf, chicken, challah, yogurt, are greeted with a smile and promptly double-fisted.  Phineas finds his brothers hilarious and sometimes terrifying.  If he's crawled off and you can't find him, first check the bathroom where he is most likely reorganizing the vanity drawer.

Grammie and Boots came in to help him celebrate the big birthday!

Put a Feather in His Cap

Anyone is who knows anything about my Aunt Kimmy knows that she LOVES hats.  A friend gave her this beautiful child's cap of her baby brothers (it's probably 60 years old).  It is so finely made with an iridescent lining, multi-piece ear flaps and a feather button detail that is darling.  Phin did not appreciate the craftsmanship or being in a hat for more than about the minute it took to photograph him.  But for those few seconds, oh he was darling!

Mother Son, Same Hairstyle

CSI The Garden Edition

Well it's a good thing our meals aren't actually coming from our garden.  These carrot seeds were planted in May.  Is that a record for unproductivity?  Or are these mysterious carrots planted after our luscious fully grown ones were eaten by some mysterious animal.  Jonas would like to know.

Endless Cardio for Grandma Karen and Grandpop Yosh

Oh they were super good sports but I think a few days with three boys under 6 and they were ready to return to their boys who for the most part can entertain themselves.  Caleb showed off all his tricks including full body lounging on the couch and a full body hurl off the kitchen bench into the wall (requiring a trip to the emergency room).  Phin is on the move and into exploring all of the drawers, tupperwear/sippy cup drawer being a favorite.
